Why would someone pay you to do their social media marketing? Let’s take a step back and look at what services you can provide. From my own personal experience, a social media marketing agency can provide a massive range of services including:

As the saying goes, “Jack of all trades, master of none”. Try to specialise in one or two valuable services and get extremely good at providing them. Valuable services are the ones that provide noticeable tangible or even intangible value. The pity with intangible value is that it’s much harder to track, quantify and prove to your client. For example, you could be a fantastic photographer who gets amazing, brand-appropriate imagery and post-production. But then when you post the content to your client’s profile, it doesn’t do so well. But still, you’re providing them with clean, high quality and professional imagery that makes their brand stand out. That’s intangible value.
I would recommend you focus on providing tangible value. Become a leading authority on how to use the Facebook Pixel to drive conversions, for example. You should aim to spend time figuring out how to provide an insane amount of tangible value with the one or two services that you provide. The most important thing to realise is that you need to provide more value than you charge. If you can learn how to track conversions and can prove to your client that you are making them 200% or even a 100% ROI (return on investment), then they are certainly going to pay you what you’re asking for.
ROI = Investment gain (Net Income) / Cost of Investment (Total Assets) * 100 = X%

Our client’s are mainly independent car dealership owners, so we don’t get a huge amount of sales data feedback and thus find it very challenging to track sales from social media – we can only rely on the information the client provides.
